Culver-Stockton College, a private liberal arts college offering 80 major and minor tracks, is scheduled to honor its 170th anniversary of the dedication of the college this Thursday, September 14, 2023.

170 ACE Event

Led by college historian Dr. Scott Giltner, an ACE (Academic and Cultural Event) program is planned to commemorate the dedication of Canton’s Christian University, which is present-day Culver-Stockton College. The event will take place at 6:30 p.m. in Merillat Chapel and is open to the public.

“On September 14, 1853, local townspeople gathered and cast their vision for the first coeducational college west of the Mississippi,” Giltner said. “On Thursday night, we are going to come together and look back at those conversations and events that took place 170 years ago.” Students, faculty, staff, and community members are welcome and encouraged to attend this free event.
