Culver-Stockton College Department of Theatre presents Xanadu, by Douglas Carter Beane with an original hit score composed by pop-rock legends, Jeff Lynne and John Farrar Thursday, April 4-Saturday, April 6 at 7:30 pm and a matinee show on Sunday, April 7 at 3 pm in the Mabee Foundation Little Theatre/Black Box of the Robert W. Brown Performing Arts Center.

Based on the cult classic movie starring Olivia Newton-John and Gene Kelly, Xanadu is hilarity on wheels for adults, children, and anyone who has ever wanted to feel inspired. Xanadu follows the journey of a magical Greek muse, Kira, who descends from the heavens of Mount Olympus to Venice Beach, California in 1980 on a quest to inspire a struggling artist, Sonny, to achieve the greatest artistic creation of all time – the first roller disco! But, when Kira falls into forbidden love with the mortal Sonny, her jealous sisters take advantage of the situation, and chaos abounds.

Director and Professor of Theatre Dr. Haidee Heaton and Monica Scholz, music director, lead the production team including lighting designer and Senior Lecturer of Theatre David Lane along with set designer and Technical Director Michael York. Students Megan Eaton (costume design) and Cassie Williams (choreography) round out the production team.

Admission is free to C-SC students, faculty, and staff. Admission for the public is $10 for adults and $5 for students and seniors.
