CULVER-STOCKTON COLLEGE DEPARTMENT OF THEATRE TO PRESENT “STAGED READINGS”

Staged Readings SM2

The Theatre Department of Culver-Stockton College has announced the production of “Staged Readings” to be performed Thursday, February 13, 2025, through Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, February 16, at 3:00 p.m in the Mabee Foundation Little Theatre/Black Box located in the Robert W. Brown Performing Arts Center. Admission is free to all C-SC students, faculty and staff. Tickets for the public are $10 for adults; students and seniors are $5. For ticket reservations, contact the Fine Arts Office at 573-288-6346 or email at finearts@culver.

This is an unique opportunity for C-SC playwriting students to have their work produced in a staged reading setting. Arts Management graduate Alexis Mallon ’24 and senior Musical Theatre Major Megan Eaton will have their plays performed in a workshop-style setting. Mallon’s plays are “Not Like This” and “Buzzed.” Eaton penned “Keep Ya’ Frogs Close and Your Enemies Closer” and “Gotta Stop Drinking.” These plays run the gamut from dramatic to absurd, heart wrenching to hysterical.

This production is under the direction of Dr. Haidee Heaton, professor of theatre, with assistance from Michael York, instructor of theatre design and production, David Lane, senior lecturer in theatre, and David McReynolds, assistant technical director. These plays contain adult themes, language, and content.
