Information About Our Minors

Business

Pairs well with majors in Finance, Marketing and Accounting. Also pairs well with interdisciplinary subjects like Pre-medicine, Political Science, etc. because the minor provides an understanding of the basic functional aspects of running a business.

Business Analytics

Businesses run on data! A student with a business analytics minor learns to manage data through databases, ask questions of the data through sequential querying language (SQL), analyze data through data mining and basic programming languages, and then tell stories with data through data visualization. A student with this skill set becomes very valuable to companies and is highly sought after in business today. This minor pairs well with any degree from the business department.

Business Leadership

This minor is focused on developing expertise in leadership, the ability to influence and inspire followers toward a beneficial objective. This minor can be paired with any subject and is an indication of the student’s desire to be more than just an employee. Special courses in ethics, logic and communication provide excellent opportunities to enhance problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Information Technology

The IT minor provides an emphasis on the use of technology to manage day-to-day operations of a company. This minor allows a student to learn basic programming skills and how enterprise management systems are utilized in business today. Data analytics and cyber-security are introduced to emphasize the importance of data management for decision-making and data protection for securing a company’s brand. The minor will pair well with Business Administration, research based positions in science and healthcare and forensic analysis in Finance and Accounting.
