Transforming Passion Into Profession

If you want to inspire students to lead active, healthy lives, the Physical Education degree at C-SC is your path forward. This program prepares you to teach students from kindergarten through high school, giving you the knowledge and hands-on experience to make a real impact in the classroom. Through observation and practical training, you will learn to promote lifetime fitness, encourage healthy habits, and bring the latest trends in physical education to life for every student.

The C-SC Difference

At Culver-Stockton College, our physical education majors learn from faculty with real-world classroom experience. From your freshman year, you will step into classrooms as an observer, gaining firsthand insight into teaching techniques. In your sophomore and junior years, you will move beyond observation to design and deliver your own mini-lessons in new school settings, building confidence and hands-on skills. Your senior year culminates in a full student teaching experience, working alongside a master teacher to lead an entire class. over four years, you will train in four different schools, gaining a breadth of experience that sets you apart. Plus, C-SC is one of the few colleges where you can also earn Health Education certification, giving you an extra credential that makes you highly competitive as you launch your career.

C-SC has given me the chance to see that this is the career I truly want to spend my life in. From STEAM Days, observation hours, and the hands-on experiences provided by the professors, the physical education department has given me the perfect blueprint to becoming a new physical education teacher, no matter where I plant my roots.
