President Thompson, along with the Culver-Stockton College Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the largest fundraising year in the history of the College. Over 6.7 million dollars was gifted during the fiscal year which ended June 30, 2017. The College’s fiscal year operates between July 1 and June 30.
As part of this record fundraising year, the Annual Student Scholarship Fund raised nearly 1 million dollars and this was an increase over the previous year. Also, for the 14th consecutive year over 90 percent of faculty and staff made a gift to the College.
In addition, the college reached its alumni participation goal of 20 percent participation, meaning one-in five graduates made a gift during this most recent fiscal year.
“My sincere thanks goes to our generous alumni and friends. They are making a difference in the lives of our students! Their support helps provide students with a unique and valuable learning experience while on ‘the Hill’ and prepares them for a lifetime of personal and professional success,” said President Thompson.
Culver-Stockton College’s Strategic Plan, We See the Future, identifies new residential housing to accommodate students’ needs as a primary goal to be met by fall 2017. The largest project over the past 12 months has been the construction of a new 3 million dollar suite-style residence hall. This project is being funded solely with private gifts, including a $400,000 challenge grant from the J.E. & L.E. Mabee Foundation.
The Carolyn L. and Robert W. Brown Residence Hall will open to upperclassmen in the fall to meet the needs of the growing enrollment. Projections for the fall 2017 recruitment class are expected to exceed the College’s goals for another consecutive year.
