Five employees, including Royal and Straus, have been promoted to new leadership roles to begin the new calendar year. Culver-Stockton College, a private Christian liberal arts college offering 80 major and minor tracks, announced the promotion of Dr. Angie Royal to Vice President of Student Experience.
Royal joined C-SC in July 2021 as Dean of Student Life and was awarded the promotion for her ability to build a mission-focused culture of engaged students at C-SC. President Douglas B. Palmer said, “Angie’s proven leadership within student engagement, restorative approach to counseling our students, and her representation of the C-SC values is well deserving of the Vice President role.” As Vice President for Student Experience, Royal will oversee and guide the student experience and supervise the following departments: Student Life, Campus Safety, and Dining Services.
Julie Straus, a faculty member who previously served as Division Chair for the Business, Education, and Law (BEL) Division, has been appointed to the role of Vice President for Finance and Chief Financial Officer. Straus holds a CPA and has been an instructor at C-SC since 2008. In her new role, she will oversee the College’s financial budget and supervise the following departments: Human Resources, Student Accounts, and Facilities. “We are incredibly fortunate to have Julie leading our financial decisions,” President Douglas B. Palmer said. “She has been a trusted advisor on “the Hill” for many years, and she is ready to lead the College into this next season of growth.”
Other promotions included Mrs. Tammy Ellison to Director of Instructional Technology and IT Operations, Mr. Seth McBride to Interim Division Chair for Business, Education, and Law Division, and Mr. Tim Williams to Interim Dean of Student Life.
