Culver-Stockton College (C-SC) is excited to announce the launch of a new Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program that enables students to earn their degree in just three years through a collaborative educational model with Hannibal Regional.

The program combines the academic strength of C-SC with the clinical excellence of Hannibal Regional, providing students with a seamless blend of classroom learning and real-world experience beginning early in their college journey. Grounded in experiential learning, innovation, and evidence-based practice, the program is committed to shaping values-driven nurses equipped to lead responsibly, serve compassionately, and improve health outcomes in their communities and beyond.

“This program builds on our commitment to experiential learning and provides students with a direct path into the healthcare workforce,” said Dr. Lauren Schellenberger, President of Culver-Stockton College. “We’re proud to offer another meaningful solution to the growing demand for nurses while giving our students an exceptional educational experience,” she added.

“Meeting this demand for skilled nurses in our region is essential to the future of healthcare in northeast Missouri,” added C. Todd Ahrens, President/CEO of Hannibal Regional Healthcare System. “Through this partnership with Culver-Stockton, we’re helping students prepare for impactful careers while building a stronger, more sustainable workforce close to home.”

Program highlights include:

  • Completion of a BSN degree in three years
  • Direct admission to nursing
  • Real-world clinical training coordinated with Hannibal Regional
  • A strong academic foundation grounded in C-SC’s experiential learning model
  • Personalized instruction and mentorship from faculty and clinical staff

Students will begin their coursework either online or on the Culver-Stockton campus before transitioning into immersive clinical learning coordinated through Hannibal Regional.

“This program, coordinated with Hannibal Regional and many other clinical partners, is truly designed with the student in mind,” said Dr. Anne Riggs, Director of the Culver-Stockton College School of Nursing with Hannibal Regional. “From direct admission and small class sizes to more than 800 hours of hands-on experience, every aspect of the program ensures students are supported, well-trained, and ready to succeed.”

The program has received initial approval by the Missouri State Board of Nursing and is currently under review for final approval by the Higher Learning Commission. C-SC will begin taking applications pending approval later this year or early 2026.
