Transfer and Re-Admit Students

Course Credit

Academic course credit earned at regionally accredited institutions before enrollment at Culver-Stockton (or earned in summer sessions) will be accepted if the work is relevant to the Culver-Stockton curriculum and does not repeat a course previously taken at Culver-Stockton.

• All coursework completed before enrollment at Culver-Stockton is evaluated by the Registrar’s Office in consultation with the academic departments to determine equivalency. Grades from the transfer institution do not become a part of the Culver-Stockton academic record — only the transfer credit.
• Credits may be transferred if the grade is a C or higher. Credit will be accepted in transfer for grades of a D or
  higher if an associate of arts or associate of science degree has been completed. Students with a completed
  Associates of Arts (AA), Associates of Sciences (AS), or Associates of Arts for Transfer (AAT) will satisfy the General Education course requirements with the exception of a required religion course and the Academic and Cultural Events requirement.
• Transfer students may petition for a maximum of seven credit hours of 100-200-level courses in which a grade
  of D was earned to be accepted provided the courses are not in the student’s major at the time of the petition.
  Approval by a Sub-Committee of the Academic Standards Committee is required.

Residency Requirement

All candidates for a degree from Culver-Stockton must earn at least 60 hours from a four-year college or institution. Thirty of the last 45 semester hours must be earned in residence at Culver-Stockton (with the possible exception of students transferring in the last year from an accredited professional school, such as clinical laboratory science, occupational therapy, etc.)

• All candidates for a degree must earn at least 40 semester hours in upper-division courses (300-or-400 level courses) and at least 12 hours of upper-division courses in their major field.

Other Credit

Transfer of credit is accepted for advanced placement, CLEP, dual credit coursework and Regents tests with official score reports and transcripts. Advance approval is strongly recommended for courses transferred in after enrollment at Culver-Stockton.

If you previously attended Culver-Stockton College and want to return please follow the appropriate process:

1. If Culver-Stockton was the last school you attended, use the Apply Now link to complete a Re-Admit application. We will be able to access your transcript and will take it from there.
2. If you have attended another school since you left Culver-Stockton, please complete the Re-Admit application using the Apply Now link AND submit transcripts from any school you attended since you were last enrolled at C-SC. Once we have your application and your transcripts, we will help you complete your re-enrollment here at Culver-Stockton

If you have ever been enrolled as a full-time student or have taken more than 64 college credit hours, you are a transfer student and are welcome at C-SC. Our full admission requirement to be considered is a 2.3 GPA after credit evaluation by our Registrar. We can work with any institution.

Associate Degree

If you have already earned an associate degree (except for an applied associate degree), we will accept that you have completed our general education requirements with the exceptions of our religion course and Academic and Cultural Events. You can start immediately on your major coursework. You may also be eligible for a 2-year Transfer Graduation Guarantee.
