Lead and Succeed in the Sport Industry

If you have a passion for sports and competition and want to build a career managing the many moving parts of the sports industry, a major in Sport Management may be the perfect fit. Whether you envision yourself overseeing teams, facilities, or large-scale events, this field offers a wide range of exciting career opportunities. Your coursework will introduce you to the financial side of the industry through sport finance, the promotional and strategic elements in sport marketing, and the detailed planning required to run successful events in your facilities and events management class. Together, these experiences prepare you to step confidently into a dynamic and fast-growing profession.

The C-SC Difference

We are committed to ensuring that you learn far beyond what can be found in textbooks, which is why our Sport Management program offers extensive hands-on experiences. Students regularly travel to the Boca Raton Bowl in Florida to assist with game administration (while working behind the scenes, they also enjoy a field-level view of the action.) Our faculty lead study abroad courses every other year to destinations such as Greece, the birthplace of the Olympics, as well as Ireland, Northern Ireland, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom, giving you a global perspective on sport. You will also gain valuable experience on campus through involvement in game day operations at athletic events, allowing you to apply what you learn in real-world settings.

The Sport Management program at Culver-Stockton College game me more than an education–it gave me connections, confidence, and real opportunities in the sports world. Through the program’s hands-on learning and supportive professors, I built the foundation and network that led to my assistantship with Culver alum Doug Mosely at the Boca Raton Bowl, along with my involvement in the Orange Bowl.

The travel study course and internship experiences helped me understand the sports industry from multiple angles and prepared me to take on real responsibility early in my career. Now, as a Graduate Assistant Coach for Keiser University Women’s Lacrosse and a club travel coach, I use the leadership, organization, and communication skills I developed at Culver every day.

What truly sets Culver apart are the professors–they genuinely care about their students and continue to be a helping hand even after graduation. Their mentorship and encouragement made all the difference in shaping my career path.

Culver-Stockton’s Sport Management program opened doors, built relationships, and prepared me to thrive in the sports industry.
