Partnership With Carl Sandburg

Students who are eligible can transfer into more than 30 undergraduate degree programs at Culver-Stockton College. “Limited Admission” degree programs may have a higher grade point average requirement and will have an additional application process to be considered. Admission to C-SC does not guarantee admission into “Limited Admission” programs. Students who provide proof of a minimum 26 ACT and 3.75 high school grade point average will have guaranteed admission into C-SC’s Honors Program.

This is the latest agreement Sandburg has made with a four-year college or university to help graduates easily transfer so they can obtain a bachelor’s degree. Sandburg also has partnerships in place with Bellevue University, Franklin University, Illinois State University, Knox College, Monmouth College, St. Ambrose University, Southern Illinois University Carbondale, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, the University of Illinois at Springfield and Western Illinois University.

“This agreement lays out a clear path for Carl Sandburg College students to follow should they want to continue working toward their baccalaureate degree at Culver-Stockton,” Sandburg President Dr. Lori Sandburg said. “We already have an excellent articulation agreement in place with Culver-Stockton, but this guaranteed admission agreement gives our students one less thing for them to worry about during their time at Sandburg. A seamless transfer from one institution to the next is critical for students. This helps take some of that stress off their shoulders.”

Carl Sandburg College serves more than 3,000 students throughout three locations in west-central Illinois, offers more than 50 university transfer, associate in applied science, certificate and advanced certificate programs, and it has been named the top community college its size in the country for digital technology four straight times.

C-SC is also a partner in education with an articulation agreement for course equivalency and are exploring additional opportunities for 2+2 transfer agreements. Culver-Stockton prides themselves on the experiential advantages we provide our students, like the 12/3 semester calendar, which includes a 12-week semester of classes with a 3-week time frame for a single class, internship or Travel Study program. Culver-Stockton is home to over 1,000 students who choose from more than 60 majors and minors. Students can also create their own major, making their options limitless. On average, for every 15 students, C-SC has one faculty member, with 71 percent holding the highest degree in their field. Students are involved with community service, the student-run newspaper and radio station, mock trial, Greek life, fine art productions and more than 50 other student groups.
