Students from several area high schools will compete in Culver-Stockton College’s annual Scholastic Bowl Invitational, set to take place on Nov. 9 on campus.

The daylong event draws about 100 students, coaches, and parents from Missouri, Illinois, and Iowa schools for the fast-paced, television gameshow-style tournament. Students from 14 schools, with teams of five, compete for a trophy in four locations across campus. Those locations include Meaders Lounge and the IDEA Center, both in the Gladys Crown Student Center, and in room Johann 202 and the Johann Mock Trial Room, both in the Johann Memorial Library.

Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m. in the Gladys Crown Student Center, followed by a meeting for coaches from 9-9:15 a.m. in the IDEA Conference Room. Matches start with a Round Robin Play from 9:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. with a 15-minute break at 11 a.m. All teams are guaranteed to play at least three matches.

Lunch is provided free of charge from the cafeteria to those in attendance and will be eaten in Meaders Lounge from 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. Bracket Play will resume from 1-2:30 p.m., and the presentation of trophies will be held 2:30-2:45 p.m.
